RIPTA Service To Run Holiday Schedule In Observance Of Fourth Of July Saturday, July 4, 2020 RIPTA to Detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) to Accommodate Bristol Fourth of July Parade

The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will run a Sunday/Holiday service schedule on Saturday, July 4, 2020, in observance of the Fourth of July.   The Sunday/Holiday schedule will apply to all regular fixed-route buses and trolleys.  In addition, RIPTA will detour Route 60 (Providence/Newport) on Saturday, July 4, 2020 to accommodate the Bristol Fourth of July Parade.  The detour will be in effect from 7:00am to 9:30am on Saturday July 4, 2020.

RIPTA Offices Closed Friday, July 3, 2020

All RIPTA Offices, including the RIde Reservation and Flex Reservation Offices, will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2020 in celebration of the holiday.

Route 60 (Providence/Newport) Detour on Saturday, July 4, 2020 • 7AM – 9:30AM

Outbound:  Trips leaving Providence will operate regular route to the intersection of Rte. 114 and Gooding Avenue in Bristol, and then turn left onto Gooding Avenue, right onto Metacom Avenue, bear left at the merge onto Rte. 114, and then resume regular route.

Inbound:  Trips into downtown Providence will travel regular route to Rte. 114 and Rte.  136, and then turn right at onto Rte. 136 (Metacom Avenue), left onto Gooding Avenue, right onto Rte. 114, and then resume regular route.

RIde and Flex Services

The statewide RIde Program will operate only ADA trips on Saturday, July 4th.  The Flex Service reservation line (1-877-906-FLEX) and the RIde reservation line (461-9760) will not be staffed on Saturday.  RIPTA Flex Services will not be available on July 4th, except for Route 210 (Kingston Flex Service), which will run on the holiday schedule.  Regular service for both RIde and Flex will resume on Sunday, July 5, 2020.
